My Notes

Note: This property is not currently for sale or for rent. The description below may be from a previous listing.
Villa De Sogni--House of Our Dreams. The name could not be more appropriate. Captivated by the Tuscan countryside, the owners of Villa De Sogni chose to bring the area's rough-hewn stonework, plentiful natural bounty and relaxed milieu to their two-acre hilltop retreat. Three years were spent working with architects and builders to design the perfect Tuscan Villa. Another three years were required to renovate this original Beer and Coleman creation. Poised high on a cul-de-sac of estate homes, Villa De Sogni marries luxurious, seldom-seen amenities with an enchanting old world soul.Tuscan style is as much a way of living as an architectural form. It's being outside as readily as indoors. It's the leisurely enjoyment of family and friends. Villa De Sogni captures it all. Lush gardens flowering spring through fall. Sunlight sparkling off inviting pools. Terraces and balconies for dining, sunning and appreciating the sheer serenity. The residence's clay tile, stone and stucco exterior complemented with a sweeping butterfly staircase is pure romance. Indoors, walls hued in varying shades of amber give a nod to Tuscany's sunny disposition. Classic elegance is bestowed with high ceilings including cross-vaults, Venetian plaster walls, gallery halls with arched pilasters, chandeliers, lighted niches and sconces spanning the east/west axis of the home. An elevator glides between the residence's three levels encompassing 23 rooms including seven bedrooms. Ten full and six half baths attend gathering and private spaces. In the stepdown living room, the tray ceiling is aglow with cove lighting, the wall-height limestone fireplace is but one of five fireplaces and a towering custom bar cabinet extends virtually wall-to wall. Here too are the first of dozens of floor-to ceiling windows and French doors, topped with arched-glass transoms, opening to terraces and balconies. In the similarly attired dining room, the eye is drawn to glass-fronted wine closets crowned with arched wood transoms. The prevailing hardwood floors transition to travertine in the inviting kitchen where the sprawling granite-topped island with dining bar beckons arrivals to gather around. Top-of-the line appliances are tucked among varying toned cabinetry. The space continues to a lounge with stone fireplace, a two-story breakfast area crested with a cupola and the step-up family room. Further along the main level hall is the office suite with fireplace-centered sitting room and a guest suite now with turret-shaped sitting room and French doors opening to the grounds. Varied roof elevations and U-shaped wings allow for the villa's distinctive floor plan. Settled on its own upper level, the voluminous master suite encompasses a sitting room, refreshment room, two fitted closet/rooms, and a bath suite comprising a main chamber adjoined with half baths--one with dressing area. Vastly expanding the residence's living and enjoyment space is the handsomely appointed walk-out finished lower level. Leading off its ultra-Tuscan stone gallery hall are a conference room, theater, kitchen and winery including a cellar, lounge and bar. There is a play room, a golf room with Sanyo simulating golf system, a gym and bath including a salon. Completing this level are multiple storage and utility areas including components for the 20-zone radiant and hot water heating system.  More Less
